We Are Not Your Father's Rotary Club

Club News

It’s a simple question. How can we help those that are in need?

Jean Wong Wu went around to the local grocery stores and asked for “almost” expired items so that she collect and distribute the food to neighborhood families that were in need.

What started out in a garage has now grown into the Vision Bread Booth, serving between 40 to 60 families per week.

Running out of the room in her garage, she asked Venture Church of Mill Creek if she could use their parking lot Monday nights for a couple of hours to distribute food.  As food distribution increased the need for more volunteers was needed.  That is when the Rotary Club of North Creek stepped in to help.

North Creek Rotarians (which is the newest Rotary Club in the area that does only community service projects) decided to volunteer every Monday night.  In addition, North Creek Rotarians participated in last year’s Hunger Strike bowling fundraiser and donated funds not only to the Vision Bread Booth but also to Harvest Against Hunger.  The Hunger Strike fundraiser, (a Rotary District-wide event held last year) provided over 4 million meals to King and South Snohomish counties.
